Creamy oats with strawberries, vanilla, chia seeds, and protein for a nourishing breakfast fix.

# What You'll Need:

→ Oats & Seeds

01 - 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
02 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds

→ Protein & Dairy

03 - 1 cup unsweetened milk, dairy or plant-based
04 - 1/2 cup Greek yogurt or plant-based yogurt
05 - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, approximately 30 grams

→ Fruits

06 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped

→ Sweetener & Flavor

07 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
08 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
09 - Pinch of salt

# Directions:

01 - In a medium bowl or large jar, combine oats, chia seeds, protein powder, and salt.
02 - Add milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract. Mix well until fully combined.
03 - Gently fold in half of the strawberries into the mixture.
04 - Divide the mixture between two jars or containers. Top with remaining strawberries.
05 - Cover and refrigerate overnight for at least 6 hours to allow oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid.
06 - In the morning, stir well. Add a splash of milk if a thinner consistency is desired. Serve chilled.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It's genuinely ready to eat the moment you wake up, no stove required or even thinking involved.
  • The protein keeps you satisfied through mid-morning without that heavy, stuffed feeling.
  • It tastes like a dessert that happens to be nutritious, which feels like you're getting away with something.
02 -
  • If you skip stirring in the morning, you'll hit a layer of separated liquid at the bottom, which taught me that a quick fifteen-second mix makes all the difference between creamy and watery.
  • The strawberries will release their juice into the oats if left too long, which is actually beautiful for flavor but means day three tastes different than day one, so prepare accordingly if you're making ahead.
03 -
  • Invest in a quality vanilla protein powder and taste it first, because a mediocre powder will haunt every spoonful, but a good one becomes nearly invisible and lets everything else shine.
  • The night before matters: use fresh, ripe strawberries and don't chop them too far ahead, as this prevents them from oxidizing and turning brown before you even refrigerate them.
